FAQ - Frequently Asked QuestionsIs Council Approval required? No council approval is needed for domestic installation of Ziptrak® blinds. However some commercial jobs on What type of PVC is used?Clear and Tint PVC are inherently unstable so only the best PVC is used. This reduces the problems but we would always suggest mesh fabric as it last longer. We are will only source our clear PVC from one company. It is Japanese film; they What thickness and Grade? We use 0.75mm Film as standard but also offer 1mm. Some companies refer to 1mm as Marine grade but this is just a marketing ploy. Thicker films add considerably to the price and can make the blind are reasonably heavy on large drops. Do you weld the seams on these blinds? All seams and edging tapes are welded on Ziptrak® Blinds. Do Ziptrak® blinds sit flat?Driving around it is easy to find older awnings that are baggy or have ripples and waves. All fabric blinds suffer this to some extent. The technology in Ziptrak® Blinds allows the fabric to be pulled tight from either edge making it a one of the flatest products on the market. However, because the fabric is not stiff there can be some ripples especially on large blinds. When the blinds are raised halfway the extra thickness of the zip kedar on either side makes it thicker than the single fabric thickness in the middle of the blinds. This causes 'smiling' where the fabric on the outside is tight but loose in the middle. This is natural and unavoidable on Ziptrak® blinds. Who owns Ziptrak®?Ziptrak® was created by a South Australian who wanted a product which did not have the gaps of other awnings. After a number of years of development the product has now matured to be one of the largest selling systems in Australia.
